Benefits of Security Systems for Social Distancing

image

While time has passed since COVID-19 first made an impact on the world, things have changed significantly. For a while, it seemed like the entire world was shutdown. Now that things are starting to open back up, the CDC still recommends social distancing and limited contact with people.

As you open your business, you may wonder how you can uphold these recommendations to help keep yourself, your employees, and your customers safe. One option is to make use of your security system.

If you are wondering how, find out below.

Access Control System

With an access control system in place, you can control who is entering your facility and who goes in certain areas of the building. During social distancing, this is a helpful tool that will limit access to and in your building.

It also helps you keep certain areas cleaned and sanitized and prevents anyone from entering the building without permission or the proper protective gear. This will help you achieve the goal of keeping your customers and employees safe. Most modern access control systems are compatible with mobile devices, which means you can restrict access to specific areas and program lock permissions regardless of where you are.

CCTV – Commercial Video Surveillance

With a video surveillance system in place, you can monitor your business from any location at any time. This lets you see what is going on and ensure that the proper sanitizing and safety protocols are followed. Also, with this system you can identify visitors or employees before they are granted access to the building.

Having the ability to see your property 24 hours a day, seven days a week means you can keep everyone safe while upholding social distancing recommendations.

How to Protect Your Home and Vehicle from Theft This Summer

image

As temperatures begin to go up, so does the likelihood that your home will be burglarized. With so many warm days ahead, there’s a lot going on – people have things to do and places to go. While most people look forward to enjoying the fresh air and time off during summer vacation, you may not realize there’s an increased risk of car theft and break-ins this time of the year.

Why Do Burglaries Increase During the Summer?

During the summer, you are more likely to be out and about. For example, people enjoy:

· Vacations

· Picnics

· Family reunions

· Increased outdoor activities

· Graduations

Some of the other key elements that lead to more burglaries and break-ins include:

· Keeping your home’s windows open to reduce AC use and keep air circulating through your house.

· Not locking the screen door.

· Leaving your car running when you enter a store.

· Leaving your car windows open.

· Leaving your garage door open for longer periods of time.

What Can You Do to Protect Your Home and Car?

There are several steps you can take to protect your home and vehicle this summer. These steps include:

· Lock your garage: While your garage gets quite a bit of activity during the summer because it holds your lawn tools, bikes, and sports equipment, you still need to lock it when you aren’t using it.

· Clean up yard clutter and your driveway: If you have items laying in your yard and driveway it means there are people and going. Burglars may begin to watch your house to see patterns and when people are away. If you leave clutter outside for several days, a burglar may take it as a sign that there is no one home to clean up.

· Keep doors and windows secure: It is essential to close and lock your doors and windows any time you aren’t home. According to statistics, it takes just 12 minutes for someone to burglarize your house.

· Shut your vehicle’s engine off: It only takes a second to run inside and pay for your gas, but you should always turn the engine off, shut the door, and lock your car if you aren’t it in.

· Invest in home security and anti-theft devices for your vehicle: Now is the time to invest in a security system for your home and vehicle. This is going to ensure it remains safe and sound, even if you are away.

If you want to have a great summer, make sure you use the tips and advice found here. It will help ensure your home and vehicle are secure.

Security in 2020: Why This is the Year to Move to the Cloud

Are you still using thumb drives? If so, you should know – this is a bad idea. Now is the time to move to the cloud, which is a safe and tech-savvy solution.

Some of the benefits offered by using the cloud include:

image

· The cloud is faster, which safes time and labor.

· Ability to access video from any location.

· No need to have multiple copies.

· It’s efficient.

· Automatic back up and duplication in data centers.

· Available for use in the future.

Reduce the Risk of Transmitting Malware and Viruses

With the cloud, there is no risk of malware or a virus when you share videos via the cloud. Also, video clips are only able to be viewed by those who have access to the link and for improved security, you can enable a password to access the link.

Lengthened Chain of Evidence

If you share security videos or anything using physical media (e.g. a thumb drive), the process may involve multiple people who should not necessarily be involved. You may even use a courier to deliver the media, having it pass through even more hands.

However, a video on the cloud can be shared directly and instantly with the authorities or another party. Also, the date and time stamp are built-in, and no other people have to be involved in the process.

As you can see, the cloud offers an array of benefits and it is something worth investing in. If you don’t use it now, consider doing so right away to prevent other issues.
